Sammlung Verbund
Sammlung Verbund (Verbund Collection) focuses on today's international art scene. Contemporary art has had a prominent place in this environment since 1970. In line with the maxim "Depth instead of breadth", the focus is placed on bodies of work.
The creation of a collection of contemporary art with an international focus is a demonstration of cultural commitment. In so doing, Verbund shows itself to be a company that is receptive to the spiritual and aesthetic impulses of a new century.
Today, the establishment of a modern art collection demands a positioning within the complex network surrounding the activities of the contemporary art scene. The identity of Sammlung Verbund is most notably differentiated from other art collections in Austria on account of the collection's basic principle of "Depth instead of breadth". The unmistakeable character of Sammlung Verbund will also prove itself in an international context.
Sammlung Verbund is to be integrated into the corporate culture to a strong degree. A special emphasis of Sammlung Verbund lies on keeping alive the dialogue between the world of work and art.
For this reason, the works displayed at Verbund are brought closer to the employees by means of the internal communication of art. The collections curator, Dr. Gabriele Schor, regularly sends out invitations to art discussions.
The "vertical gallery" in the staircase hall of the Verbund Group headquarters at the location "Am Hof" in Vienna shows works of art from the collection in changing presentations. Constant sharing of thoughts among the employees regarding the acquired works both supports and raises interest. Understanding works of art means actively engaging in them, irrespective of which century they are from.
